Photo Story

For my Photo Story, I did the bookstore with my main subject Rhonda Anglin. I chose this because it was easy to access, close to home, and very familiar. I went from documenting my subjects by interviewing them once or twice for a minute and just taking pictures for the rest of the time. The challenges I encountered were my laptop which had all my previous photos gone and had to take new ones, the bookstore when I always came almost always empty, and the subject moving around a lot. My favorite photo, I will say later. And I learned patience is key to a great photo.

This is Rhonda Anglin on November 29th checking what the purchase a student just had at the bookstore. Rhonda has been working here ever since 2002, she stayed here because she loves meeting new students to talk to and meet. Rhonda talks about how students request snacks and how she accepts to make everyone want to see what other students like to have. She has loved doing this job ever since she got it back in 2002

These photos were taken at the Linn County Community College Bookstore where people go to buy books for college classes, buy snacks, and study and relax. Many people come here to enjoy the quiet environment to study or just to get the cheap snacks that are here. But what we have here is the staff that have been working here for a very long time.

Rhonda Anglin says that the students don't come very often for the books anymore but for the relaxed atmosphere and the snacks. The snacks weren't always there. somewhere around 2010 they did some construction on the courtyard to make the bookstore bigger and that's when they got the snacks. Students tend to come here instead of OSU to get snacks because their cheap here, and Rhonda makes sure of that. Rhonda wants to make this a place where students are always welcome to study or hang out.

Rhonda Anglin wrote down what was gone after a mess up with the delivery of goods on November 29th, she wrote down the student's name and what was missing, before this even happened, there was a talk staff to staff that some items were missing from delivery.
